French Onion Chicken Bake

French Onion Chicken Bake is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that combines the flavors of chicken, caramelized onions, and cheese. Here’s a step-by-step recipe for you to follow:

Ingredients:

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp butter
2 large onions, thinly sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp dried rosemary
1 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup grated Gruyere cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 400°F.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Transfer the chicken to a baking dish and set aside.
In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onions and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 15 minutes or until the onions are caramelized and golden brown. Add the garlic and cook for another minute.
Add the thyme, rosemary, basil, salt, and pepper to the skillet and stir to combine.

Pour the chicken broth into the skillet and stir to combine. Simmer for a few minutes until the liquid has reduced by half.
Pour the onion mixture over the chicken breasts in the baking dish.
Top the chicken and onions with the grated Gruyere cheese and Parmesan cheese.
Bake the chicken in the oven for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove the chicken from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Sprinkle with chopped parsley, if desired.
Enjoy your delicious French Onion Chicken Bake!
